Training and Education Xpress (TEx)
Training and Education Xpress ("TEx") is a turnkey media creation, authoring, production, and hosting tool suite for:
  • Live audio or audio plus video - Live events may be streamed and archived for later on-demand access.
  • Multimedia production - Mix in soundtracks or video from camcorders, VCRs, DVDs, etc.
  • Webcasts - Produce live or on-demand PowerPoint™ presentations that are synchronized to video network, while viewers interact via chat.
  • Archival and serving - Multimedia productions are hosted at the school for on-demand access.
TEx, as a delivery service, is fully equipped to facilitate the delivery of the media over the customer's LAN, or TEx can be combined with AchieveXpress to make the media accessible over a WAN.

With TEx, teachers, administrators and students can create both live and on-demand audio/video productions, synchronize them with PowerPoint® presentations and stream them to classrooms or students. Productions can then be archived, enabling them to be delivered to students and teachers on demand whenever they want them. With TEx, multimedia becomes a tool that can be used by media specialists, instructional technologists, teachers, administrators and students.

For teachers, media specialists and instructional technologists, TEx offers the essential tools to create and manage content while introducing multimedia projects and presentation skills to the classroom. These productions can be delivered live or on-demand over the school's local area network or optionally to remote locations.

Administrators can use TEx to communicate with teachers throughout the district, for Board of Education meetings, school principal workshops through virtual meetings, webcasting or by posting audio/visual announcements. And, all meetings can be archived and ready for on-demand delivery at the discretion of the Administrator.

TEx provides students access to a wider offering of courses and content while allowing them to enthusiastically explore venues such as the production of plays, sports events, workshops and video yearbooks. It brings excitement to the classroom by allowing the students to participate in the creative process of multimedia content production. Yet, there is another benefit to TEx when combined with ATN's WAN services. Parents gain access to live and on-demand sports events, PTA broadcasts, school plays and community postings - events and updates that they might ordinarily miss.

TEx Components

TEx is a turnkey course creation package that includes:

Xpress Station - A distance learning management system integrated with an in-school hosting server platform and installed in the school's data closet.

Producer Station - A mobile multimedia production workstation.

TEx travels to where you need it! Producer Station fits in a briefcase and includes a laptop multimedia workstation, camcorder, video switch, microphone, and cabling. Simply connect to the video output of almost any camcorder and you are ready to begin. For maximum mobility, an optional wireless network interface may be ordered. The Producer Station communicates with the Xpress Station server in the school's data closet, which serves the media to viewers. Teachers or curriculum specialists create or import lessons into the Xpress Station and link these lessons to the multimedia content created by Producer Station.

Each TEx system comes with one Xpress Station and one Producer Station. You can support multiple production workshops in your school by simply adding Producer Stations.

Community Access

Interact with the community, highlighting the creativity and technical capability of your students and teachers, by hosting your production on the Internet. This TEx option hosts your media on an additional Xpress Station that is accessible over the Internet and allows live and on-demand events to be streamed with ATN's WAN service from your school to the entire community.
